Hi, I’m Bryn.
I’m an overly anxious and dramatic writer, cat lover, and self-proclaimed best friend of Taylor Swift.
The story of how this blog came to be starts in October of 2014 when I was invited to Taylor Swift’s house.
How’s that for an opening line?
In that room on the top floor of an NYC apartment, life changed for an 8-year, fierce Taylor Swift fan. Maybe it was the music, or the energy, or the overwhelming number of scented candles, but something felt different.
In relation to this blog, the most notable change happened the next day in JFK airport, when Taylor Swift herself followed me on Tumblr. What was once a small following suddenly jumped in the thousands and I found myself in the midst of a community.
This community was so much more than Taylor Swift fans. It was filled with genuine, kind, caring people who believed entertainment was more than just something to enjoy; it was a part of who they were.
Just like me, they believed a song, a book, or a movie was so much more than just entertainment. They believed a great story, a cool makeup look, or a new hobby could help us find ourselves.
The stuff we love matters, it’s a part of us, and it tells you more about us than anything else could.
Less than a year later, their support and encouragement inspired me to start a YouTube channel. Since everyone on Tumblr knew me as ‘illbethebryncess’ (a play off of a lyric from Taylor’s ‘You Belong With Me’), I called my channel ‘Diary of a Bryncess’. What can I say? I’m big on word play.
That YouTube channel later extended into this blog of the same name and ‘Diary of a Bryncess’ grew into something so much bigger. It has become a space where fangirls and fierce lovers of entertainment can always go to find inspiration and new things to love.
Like a diary (as the name suggests), everything I write on this blog is honest and about my life and the things that matter to me. If these things matter to you, too, then you have found your people.
If you want to talk, feel free to fill out my contact page.
I’m really glad you found your way here. I hope you stay awhile.
